Centro de Idiomas

The primary purpose of this class is to help students reinforce their speaking competences as advanced English language learners. Additionally, this course will enable students to enhance their communicative skills in academic contexts. Through their participation in various speaking situations, students will reinforce general and academic speaking skills acquired during previous language courses. These skills include activating prior knowledge, identifying register, understanding language function and genre, setting speaking objectives, and recognizing the role of academic knowledge in their lives as students. The class will also provide practice for taking standardized language tests. By the end of the course, students will be able to engage in multiple academic speaking situations and perform tasks such as presenting academic texts and participating in academic conversations using the appropriate register, among other skills.
